Fishing in the Mississippi Delta
is always a great experience! Eagle Lake is approximately 5,000 acres and
is up to one mile wide and 14 miles in length. With depths of up to 30
ft. and no current, Eagle Lake has year round excellent fishing opportunities
for Bass, Crappie, Stripers, Bream or Catfish!
In addition to Eagle Lake there are several
other oxbow lakes in the area that may be fished as well!
What to Bring:
Bass: Best fishing for bass is October thru May.
Bring with you Bait or Spin casting outfits, rigged with 12-17 lb test
line. Assorted soft plastic lures as well as crank baits and topwater lures
are recommended!
Crappie: Best fishing for crappie is September
thru April. Bring your Spin casting outfits or extendable crappie
poles rigged with 4-8 lb test line. Minnows or minnow tipped jigs are recommended!
Stripers: Best fishing for stripers is April thru
July. Bring your Bait or Spin casting outfits, rigged with 12-17 lb
test line. Assorted shad colored crank baits and topwater lures are recommended!
Bream: Best fishing for bream is March thru May.
Bring your Spin casting outfits or extendable crappie or cane poles
rigged with 4-8 lb test line. Crickets or Red worms are recommended!
Catfish: Channel catfishing is good year round,
but the best months are April and May!. Bring your Bait or Spin casting
outfits, rigged with 12-17 lb test line. Nightcrawlers, minnows, cut bait
and dead shrimp are recommended! Trotlining off cypress trees is best in
May thru July.
